When the question was first put to us at Fantazia we came up with 100’s and to
narrow this down to just 10 was impossible as there are so many truly banging tracks from this era. So to pay homage to the producers and dj’s over the years that have kept our feet moving and our hands raised to the skies we have decided to break down the rave scene and run down our top 10 tunes from each major genre of the scene.

So here is part one of this series running down the top 10 best Oldskool House/Rave Anthems, enjoy.

Top 10 Oldskool House/Rave Anthems

1. Rhythm is Rhythm – Strings of Life (1989)

Produced by Derrick May, this track is one of the iconic tracks of its time really pushing forward house into the 90’s. With its classic piano riff this tune has and always will be a true anthem of the birth of rave.

2. Congress - 40 Miles (1991)

Classic early nineties house tune that is more commonly known for the instrumental version.....a mixture of slow breakbeat and simple piano." Likely remembered by latecomers as the original sample for the second half of Fatboy Slim's Song for Lindy.

3. Shades Of Rhythm -Sound of Eden (1991)

The Legends that is Shades Of Rhythm!! Could have picked any number of songs from these guys, famous for their melodic tones and amazing live PA shows. Sound of Eden released in 1991 Smashed into the UK music charts, bringing Shades out of the Rave scene and bringing there style of rave music to the masses. 4. The Prodigy - Charly (1991)

"Charly" is the debut single released by the British electronic act The Prodigy, taken from their debut album Experience. Released in the UK on August 12, 1991 through XL Recordings, it smashed into the UK Charts throwing Prodigy to the forefront of the Rave scene and making them the true dance pioneers that they have become today. On October 1, 1992, "Charly" had sold over 200,000 copies in the UK establishing it as one of the top selling dance singles of all time.
